Elementary School "I" Rezoning
-
As a first step in a plan to comprehensively rezone all Alachua County Public Schools, the School Board has voted to relocate the students and staff at Terwilliger Elementary School to the new Elementary School I campus for the 2021-22 school year. Families of other elementary school students throughout the district may request a one-year zoning exception to attend the new school as well.
The district is planning to launch a community-wide engagement campaign in the summer of 2021, which will include public input sessions throughout the county. The comprehensive rezoning process will include a review of student populations, facilities and programs, including magnets, throughout the district. Ultimately the goal is to promote equity and reduce the need to build additional schools.
Relocating Terwilliger Elementary to the Elementary I campus will provide the time needed for this important effort.
More information will be shared with families, staff and the entire community as we prepare for that important effort.
